ISLANDERS INSPIRE

Here's how you can assist the newest Islanders in hosting children in need at Islanders games

RexCorp Islanders Inspire is the New York Islanders new turnkey charity initiative in which area businesses and individuals purchase tickets for underprivileged children for home games at the Nassau Coliseum. RexCorp Islanders Inspire transcends the goals of most charitable ticket programs by also providing round-trip bus transportation to Islanders games for the children in need.

Islanders captain Bill Guerin and many of his teammates ¬ including Rick DiPietro, Mike Comrie, Ruslan Fedotenko and Jon Sim ¬ have kick-started RexCorp Islanders Inspire with significant contributions.

More than 1,000 Long Island children in need attended Monday's Kids' Home Opener, thanks to RexCorp Islanders Inspire and benefactors like the Bide-A-Wee Home and Keystone Electronics.

"I read about the program on the website and felt it was a great way for our company to give something back to the community," said Keystone Electronics Executive Vice President, Troy David.

Bide-A-Wee Home's Michele Morck put is this way: "The game is a lot more fun when you see children there…it puts a whole new perspective on life and sports."

A contribution of $3,600 to RexCorp Islanders Inspire provides game tickets and round-trip transportation for 100 underprivileged children (actual value of package: $7,650). Benefactor benefits include 4 VIP tickets and complimentary VIP parking, a signed Islanders hockey puck, recognition on the Coliseum scoreboard, over the public-address system during the game and in the Islanders game program.
